Jaguar F-Type Lease Deals

The Jaguar F-Type is the modern interpretation of the ‘Great British Sports Car’ of the 1960s. It combines stunning looks with prodigious performance and entertaining handling, to deliver a heady cocktail of cool demeanour and driving fun. Once you’ve been behind the wheel of the Jaguar F-Type, we’re sure you’ll agree it’s worth the outlay.

Both hard-top and soft-top models are available.

  • The F-Type is strictly a 2-seater, in both Coupe and Convertible form, but once you’ve accepted that limitation, it’s actually reasonably practical for what it is. The Coupe has a boot capacity of slightly in excess of 400 litres and will take a couple of overnight bags with ease, which is good news for couples planning a weekend away.

The boot opening is quite long and narrow, however, which can make loading items awkward. Up front, there’s a glovebox, but not a great deal more cabin storage, so you’ll need to pack lightly and keep the clutter to a minimum.

  • Efficiency isn’t usually the top priority when it comes to leasing a car like the Jaguar F-Type, but if you do need to keep one eye on running costs, the P300 4-cylinder petrol engine is definitely the one to go for. It should manage close to 30mpg if driven gently, as opposed to around 25mpg for the P450 and P575 V8s.

Available Jaguar F-Type Models

Jaguar F-Type Coupe

The ‘standard’ version of the F-Type is the hard-top, 2-door, 2-seat coupe variant. It’s a little more practical than the Convertible as there’s no need to store a lowered roof, but it’s still a pretty cosy sports car rather than anything that could be used for family duties.

Jaguar F-Type Convertible

With the top down, the convertible naturally gives you a more visceral driving experience than the coupe. Also strictly a 2-seater, it’s less practical than its Coupe sibling, as well as slightly less refined on the motorway.

High Performance Models

Every F-Type is a high-performance model, but those with a real ‘need for speed’ will want to lease the range-topping Jaguar F-Type R, which uses the most powerful version of the V8 engine, making 575hp, as well as adding larger brakes for more effective performance on track and an aggressive, sporty body kit. It’s available as both a Coupe and Convertible.

F-Type Trim Levels

F-Type R-Dynamic R-Dynamic Black R

The basic F-Type trim level is only available in the Coupe body style. Standard equipment here includes a boot lid spoiler, heated and powered door mirrors, LED lights, 18-inch alloys, climate control, a power-adjustable steering column, 6-way power-adjustable front seats, a sports exhaust and cruise control.

The Jaguar F-Type Vs Competitors

The Jaguar F-Type’s most formidable rivals are the Porsche Cayman and the Porsche 911. The legendary German sports cars offer a wider range of variants, right up to its hardcore, track-focused GT3 and GT4 versions, but the Jaguar runs them close in the styling and desirability departments.

Other rivals include the Alpine A110, which is more of a pure sports car than a grand tourer like the Jaguar, as well as the BMW 8 Series, which some might say lacks the Jaguar’s elegance, even if it’s very quick and great to drive.

  • You can lease the F-Type in an unnamed entry-level trim, which is only available as a Coupe, as well as R-Dynamic, R-Dynamic Black and range-topping R. The latter gets its own fearsome 575hp V8 engine, although a slightly less powerful 450hp version is available in R-Dynamic spec.

  • Yes. All versions have both front and rear parking sensors, and a rear-view camera, which is good news as it can be a tricky car to see out of due to its small windows, low roofline and swoopy design.

  • It’s a 2-door, so not very – although practicality isn’t something you’d expect of such a motor. While the Coupe version does have a 400-litre boot capacity, its opening is narrow and you have to lift items above quite a high lip to get them in.

  • It’s a 2-door, so not very. There aren’t even small kid-size seats in the back, and while the Coupe version does have a 400-litre boot capacity, its opening is narrow and you have to lift items above quite a high lip to get them in.

  • The V6-engined Jaguar F-Types were discontinued in 2017 in favour of the new and more efficient 4-cylinder engines. The V8 remains at the top of the range, however.
