According to official tests, you can get up to 43.6mpg from the D200 diesel and up to 31.5mpg from the P200 petrol. The front-wheel-drive, entry-level D165 diesel promises 46.3mpg.
The plug-in hybrid Evoque is called the P300e. It can give you up to 34 miles of electric motoring, and you can charge your car at home from a wallbox, or out at a public charger. This can massively slash your fuel bills and its petrol engine also makes it the fastest Evoque available.
There’s a good amount of passenger space in the Range Rover Evoque, with plenty of room for 4 adults; and 5 if you don’t mind a bit of a squeeze in the back.
Land Rover quotes 591 litres of space with the rear seats up, though it is actually closer to 472 in industry-standard; broadly the same as if you lease a Volvo XC40 or Lexus NX. You can fold the rear seats down in a 40/20/40 split, which gives some flexibility for carrying larger items. There’s a good amount of storage in the cabin, including storage trays, a cubby hole under the front centre armrest.
