Volkswagen ID.4 Leasing

The ID.4 is Volkswagen’s new electric only SUV. It’s Germany’s answer to the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Skoda Enyaq iV and the Kia Niro EV. Comfort and practicality might be its key selling points, but it’s also stylish, high-tech and cheap to run. And that makes it an appealing leasing option.

Spacious interior.

  • The Volkswagen ID.4 is very spacious, with more than enough room in the cabin for 4 fully grown adults. Headroom is plentiful in the front and rear, while those in the back will also get more than enough legroom. A relatively flat floor means even a 5th passenger will have just enough space for their head and legs. They’ll be a bit tight for width, though.

Further back, the ID.4 comes with a 543-litre boot. That makes it larger than that of the Audi Q4 E-Tron or the Ford Mustang Mach-E, but slightly smaller than you’d find in a Skoda Enyaq iV. It’s certainly big enough for a family’s holiday luggage, musical instruments or sports equipment, let alone shopping and school bags. It’ll be plenty for most customers.

  • Unsurprisingly, the ID.4’s range will depend on which powertrain you choose. Pick the basic Pure system and you get up to 213 miles between trips to the plug. The Pure Performance matches that ability, but the Pro Performance will manage up to 322 miles. The high-performance GTX does 301 miles to a charge, while the GTX Max cuts that to 291.

Running costs will be low whichever version you choose. Every model falls into the cheapest company-car tax bracket. And if you have a competitive electricity tariff that allows cheap night-time charging, you won’t spend much on power. Only if you have to charge away from base will that cost creep up, but the long range means you shouldn’t have to do that too often.

Models Available

SUV 5-Door

The ID.4 comes with a practical and spacious 5-door, 5-seat body as standard. There’s a coupe-like version of it due soon, but that will be called the ID.5.

Trim Levels

Trim Levels Available: Life, Style, Family, Max, GTX, GTX Max

The ID.4 is available in a range of versions, but all get plenty of standard equipment. Even the basic Life model comes with 18-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights and satellite navigation as standard. You also get wireless phone charging, 2-zone climate control and keyless entry, not to mention heated front seats, automatic windscreen wipers and a reversing camera.

The Volkswagen ID.4 Vs Competitors

The ID.4’s most formidable rivals come from within the VW Group. The Audi Q4 E-Tron and Skoda Enyaq iV are both based on similar underpinnings, but offer different characteristics. The Audi is a consummate all-rounder with a premium feel, while the Skoda is sportier and more down-to-earth. All 3 cars are great. You could also look further afield, trying something such as the Ford Mustang Mach-E, the Kia Niro EV – one of the best electric cars you can lease – or the MG ZS EV. And if you desperately want something bigger, consider the Tesla Model X or the Audi E-Tron.

  • Volkswagen reliability is legendary, so the ID.4 is unlikely to have too many problems. Good build quality and the relative simplicity of the electric powertrain also bode well. If you are concerned, rest assured you’re covered by a standard warranty.

  • The ID.4’s boot measures 543 litres, which should be more than enough. All your holiday luggage will fit in easily and you should be able to do tip runs without any trouble. If you need more space, fold down the rear seats to swap passengers for luggage.

  • The ID.4 comes in a range of trims, starting with the Life, then moving on to the Style, Family and Max versions. There are also high-performance GTX and GTX Max models.

  • Yes, you get front and rear parking sensors as standard on the ID.4. You also get a reversing camera designed to help make parking even easier.

  • There’s plenty of space in the ID.4, with more than enough room for 4 adults and their luggage. The boot is big and the rear seats are equally spacious, with plenty of head- and legroom on offer. You can’t have a 7-seat option, however.

  • Stylish looks, plenty of range and the promise of Volkswagen quality all help to make the ID.4 a popular choice with customers. The supple ride and cool cabin only add to its appeal.

  • Leasing an ID.4 with Vanarama is the smartest way to upgrade what you drive. Not only will you get the best price, guaranteed with our Price Promise*, there’s also no hidden fees, extra protection should the worst happen and access to expert advice when you need it!
